wolf

A member of the species Canus lupus, large members of the dog family. In biblical usage the literal reference to some such animal is found only in (Isa 11:6; Isa 65:25; and John 10:12). All other usages are metaphorical references to the wolf’s hunger (Gen 49:7); destruction (Jer 5:6), or ravenous conduct regarding the innocent (Ezek 22:27; Hab 1:8; Zeph 3:3; Matt 7:15; Matt 10:16; Luke 10:3; Acts 20:29).
